Ways to survive a migraine attack

People with migraines with aura are able to predict in advance an approaching attack. The sooner they take their medication, the greater the chance that migraine pain will not develop or will be less severe. In addition to treatment under the guidance of a doctor, it is also useful to know about home remedies that will help survive the attack and alleviate its symptoms.

Fighting over-the-counter migraine

Try to take one of the commonly available over-the-counter painkillers containing e.g. paracetamol, ibuprofen, and acetylsalicylic acid. If your migraine is mild, you may feel relief. Remember that you should never take more painkillers than the leaflet says, even if you don’t see improvement! For severe migraines with aura and other accompanying symptoms such as nausea, vomiting and photophobia, over-the-counter tablets are not enough. It’s best to see a doctor right away.
