Corporate Profile
Comstock Inc. is a US manufacturer with worldwide sales of scientific instrumentation for applications in research and analysis in the physical, chemical, and biological sciences. Comstock specializes in time-of-flight mass spectrometers and spherical sector electrostatic energy analyzers of all configurations for all applications. The company was formed in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, in 1979 by Dr. Robert N. Compton and Dr. John A.D. Stockdale, internationally known physicists with extensive experience in atomic and molecular physics and physical chemistry.
Comstock's initial product was an Electrostatic Energy Analyzer (ESA). Since this time, many new products have been developed and engineered, notably the Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometer product line that was introduced in 1987. Comstock's continuing development of the time-of-flight mass spectrometer product line has resulted in a comprehensive list of time-of-flight mass spectrometer configurations for many applications including biosciences, on-line process monitoring, and environmental testing. Comstock manufactures a considerable amount of custom instrumentation. All custom instruments are tested and evaluated using proprietary computer modeling methods prior to construction.
All operations of the company are currently located in Oak Ridge,
Tennessee.
